The abbreviation VR stands for Virtual Reality. A VR headset (or VR glasses as it is also called) is, in short, just a type of glasses-like device you strap in front of your eyes. Inside the VR glasses there is a screen that shows, for example, a digital environment, such as a game world.
When you move your head, various sensors in the VR headset react to your movements and then mirror the movements in the digital pretend environment you have in front of your eyes. The whole VR concept is simply about creating a virtual reality.
VR creates a fully immersive digital environment where users can interact with 3D simulations. It’s widely used for training, gaming, and architectural visualization. For instance, XR training systems like XSENS combine VR with ergonomics assessment, ensuring safe and effective industrial training programs. These systems adapt the virtual world to real-world workplace specifics, enhancing engagement and knowledge retention.
